Chapter 4.

The van came down the winding road to Sam’s home just after eleven and Sam was dressed in long blue shorts, a yellow blouse and a black baseball cap that had the Australian flag in black on the front of it, she walked out to the van and steeped inside and Chloe greeted her and said. “I love your cap Sammy.”

“I bought it before I left Sydney, this is my first time to wear it.”

“I love it, can I have it please, let’s swap, Jenny get out one of the new Zoir caps out of the bag and give it to Sammy.”

Jenny reached into the bag and pulled out a Zoir cap and handed it to Sam and Sam gave Chloe her cap, Chloe took off her Zoir cap and put on Sam’s cap and smiled at Sam and said. “Sammy, I will wear your cap everywhere I go, I love it.”

Sam smiled and thought to herself that’s funny and said. “I am glad you like it.”

It didn’t take them long to get to the picnic spot and the girls began to set out the picnic on a small covered picnic table surrounded by beautiful trees and an open field that ran down to the lakes shore.

Chloe said to Sam. “Let’s go for a walk.”

They wandered down around the lake just chatting about their lives and Chloe said. “Sammy I enjoy being with you, I feel we will be good friends.”

Sam said. “I enjoy your company also.”

Sam did not want to say more, she loved being with Chloe, still something inside of her said to be careful with your emotions.

They had been walking for about an hour and Chloe said. “Sammy, let’s go back, our picnic should be ready.”

She took Sam’s arm and they slowly walked back to the picnic area.

After they finished their picnic Sam and Chloe were sitting on the warm ground under a tree and Chloe said. “Sammy, can I have your mobile number?”

“Yes, I don’t remember the number so I had to write it down, here it is.”

Chloe put it into her phone and immediately sent Sam a sticker and said. “Now you know my number, how did you set up when you first arrived here?”

“I have a wonderful friend who lives in Seoul and he helped me open a bank account, get a mobile number and set up the internet for my house, I would have been lost without him,”

Chloe frowned and said. “Is he your boyfriend?”

“No, not at all, just a good friend who helped me after the separation from my ex, he is married to John another good friend.”

Smiling Chloe said. “Oh, I understand, just friends, that’s good, do you see them much now?”

“No, I speak to George every week, sometimes we face time each other, they don’t come out anymore, just life, it can get in the way.”

“Sammy, I will be back next Saturday, let’s have lunch together, please say yes?”

“Of course I will have lunch with you, I will look forward to it, what time are you leaving today?”

“We are scheduled to leave at four, as I have early morning meetings tomorrow and then a packed day, it will be a busy week as we prepare to go overseas.”

“Sounds very exciting, where are you going?”

“Europe and then the states, we will be gone for six weeks, I will be back mid September and I will come straight out and see you, promise.”

Smiling Sam said. “I won’t hold you to that promise, however if you do come out I will be very happy to see you and I will show you some new work.”

“I will look forward to that Sammy, can I ask you a personal question?”

“Yes, but I may not answer it.”

“Ok, I will ask anyway, are you involved with anyone?”

“No, not at all and after my last experience, they will have to be a very special person for me to consider them, I don’t want my heart broken again, so best to not get involved.”

Chloe thought for a while and said. “Yes, I agree, it takes time for the pain to go away.”

And she remembered all the tears she shed over Tee and how he played around on her with many girls, she remembered all the people who laughed at her, never again she thought, strangely, why does she feel such an attraction towards Sam, they are friends she thought, we are best to leave it that way, but I can’t get over how beautiful she is.

They chatted on for hours and finally Jenny came over and said to Chloe. “Ma'am, we will have to leave it’s getting late.”

Chloe and Sam stood up and they all walked to the van and Chloe said. “We will drive you home Sammy.”

Once the van arrived at Sam’s house, Sam got out and so did Chloe and she held Sam’s hands and said. “I will miss you Sammy and I will see you next Saturday.”

She let go of Sam’s hands and got back into the van and waved to Sam as they drove off and Jenny whispered to Chloe in English. “Careful Miss, these girls will talk, I think in the future we should leave them in Seoul when we come out here.”

“Maybe you are right, I do not need another scandal, I really want to see Sammy again, she is so beautiful, I want to be close to her.”

Jenny wondered what is going on here?
