Forever series.  Book 1by Arka Blanco. Chapter 3 Chapter 3. Two months later. Sam was settled into her new home and studio, Nelly’s husband had delivered all the art supplies Sam had ordered online and she was surprised at how reasonable the prices were. She had worked hard over the past two months and had completed a number of large works. Sam liked to work on bigger pieces, though she had decided not to go any larger than two meters by two meters and to do smaller pieces, it would be a challenge to go smaller, but Sam was up for it. A habit Sam had developed here, was to walk to the lake about fifteen minutes away and sketch, she loved the peace in the early morning she felt at the lake, it helped her to create, she would use pencils, watercolours and oil pastels to create wonderful dreamy patterns, making marks and shapes, she always got lost in the flow. Sam was sitting on the warm ground, doing her patterns and mark making and she didn’t notice that someone was...

They picked up Suelin at nine and started their journey out into the country side, Seoul was like all big cities lots of traffic and very busy, people rushing everywhere, finally they reached the city limits and the traffic started to thin out. Sam could see mountains and hills in the distance, it really was a lovely drive and Sam felt very excited to see this area that Suelin had described. Suelin said. “Once we get over those hills in front of us we will go into the valley I told you about.” As they drove over the hills the valley spread out before them and you could see the farms and the sparkling lake, it was beautiful with the stunning mountains in the distance.   Forever series book one. Title. “Your my last," by Arka Blanco. Chapter 1. Crunch time. After three years it had come to this, Sam sitting alone in this cold divorce court, listening to her husbands lawyers argue that she deserved nothing, as she had contributed nothing to the marriage and the judge was certainly sympathetic to the husbands arguments. The judge listened to what the husbands lawyers said and never at anytime addressed Sam until the end and he asked if she wanted to comment, she said that she had nothing to say, so the judge ruled that Sam should get $50,000 and the husband would get everything else and that was that, the marriage was over. Work that matters is consistently making our Art better.

We need to make work that matters for the people who care about our Art. It is easy to be average it takes little effort and low risk, but it will always be average work. To make work that matters takes risk and emotional energy and we invest something in it that average doesn’t have, the desire for constant improvement. Average does not have to improve, it’s just average and that is easy to do and nobody cares. Consistent improvement can be measured, we will see the improvement in our work, because it matters to you the creator and to the people who care about your Art. It always matters.

They do it.

Most of the important things you will have to do to be a successful Artist are not things you will feel like doing, but that does not matter you will still have to do them. The difference between highly successful people is that they know that hard things have to be done and they just do them, they do not debate and negotiate with themselves and talk themselves out of it because they do not feel like it, they do it. The difference is taking action and doing it quickly so you don’t talk yourself out of it. So next time you know you should do something but don’t feel like doing it, act and do it, that is what successful people do.

Isn’t that an extraordinary gift?

The imagination drives our practice and helps us to produce the work that defines us as Artists. We take what does not exist, except in our imagination and dreams and we turn it into a beautiful Art work. As Artists we go to work on an idea and turn it into reality. We breath life into ideas and produce exceptional Art. We imagine it and it is. We dream it and it becomes reality.

Best effort.

Now not everyone will like us or our Art, but we must do all we can to endear ourselves to others. Create wonderful original Art and work on the better you, a better smile, on your pleasing personality and always be as friendly as you can, get rid of bad habits like arguing and criticism and learn to see the best in every situation. It may not work out exactly as you want all the time but as long as you have always given it your best effort, that’s enough. .
