Priorities are more important than the urgent.


Producing work is more important than being busy.

It is so easy to get caught up in the urgent and become super busy but the important stuff, your priorities, the work that must get done is left undone.

If you are super busy but produce very few paintings and art works considering the time you are working, then you are too busy.

Yes, too busy, get rid of some of the your busyness.

An Artist should prioritise these things.

Of course completing your paintings and your Art work, that is your main work.

Combined with selling and exhibiting, marketing and keeping in contact with your clients and lastly personal development and learning new skills.

If you can keep busy doing those things then your Art practise will prosper.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
