Chapter 12. Saturday.

Jenny ordered room service for breakfast and Sam and Chloe had fruit and sparkling water, Jenny had toast and green tea.

After they finished breakfast Chloe and Sam were sitting on the lounge talking about Sam’s paintings and how Ever Love would promote them, Sam was excited and couldn’t wait to get back and start painting in her new studio.

There was a knock on the door and Jenny opened it and Sam’s mum came in, she gave Jenny a hug before hugging Sam and Chloe, after greeting everyone she said. “Sammy, please tell me what is going on, I am worried sick about the three of you.”

“Mum, there is nothing to worry about, Chloe is a big star in the entertainment industry and if people know she is in Sydney she will get mobbed and she doesn’t want that, this was a private trip to see you and my two nieces, that’s all.”

Beth looked around the beautiful suite and said. “Sammy, how can you afford all this, it must cost a lot.”

“Mum, please forget about all of that and lets talk.”

“And Sammy, Carol said you and one of the girls have Chanel handbags, how can you afford that?”

“Mum, Chloe gave it to me, stop worrying about these things.”

“Ok Sammy, where are you living in Korea, are you still at the farm?”

“No mum, I live with Chloe, she saved my life, I was very sick and Chloe and Jenny came to the farm and took me to Seoul, where I recovered from the illness.”

“That was very kind of you Chloe, thank you.”

Chloe said. “Sammy is very special to me, Mommy Beth we have some Christmas gifts for you.”

“Really dear, I didn’t bring any gifts for you.”

Chloe said. “That’s fine, you are the special one today and we wrapped them in Christmas paper.” And she handed Beth a parcel.

Beth opened it and was shocked to see a Zoir handbag, she said. “Dear, this is a beautiful handbag, are you sure it’s for me?”

“Yes Mommy Beth, it will look beautiful on you, here is another gift.”

Beth opened it and again grasped as she opened the box of a BZT watch. “I knew I had seen you before, you modelled these watches for BZT in New York, your photo was in lots of fashion magazines, it is very beautiful, I don’t know what to say, thank you.”

“Your welcome, and I have one more for you, here.”

Beth opened it. “It’s Zoir perfume, thank you so much, I feel so spoiled, I have never received gifts like these before in my life, they are wonderful, thank you.”

Beth started to cry and both Sam and Chloe hugged her and said. “Merry Christmas Mommy Beth.”

They all spent the rest of the morning talking about their life in Korea and Jenny came in and said. “Miss, do you want me to order lunch.”

“Yes Jenny, Mommy Beth what would you like for lunch, you can have anything you like?”

“I don’t know dear, what would you suggest?”
Sam said. “Mum, we usually have a salad with ham or chicken?”

“That would be fine dear, don’t go to a lot of trouble for me.”

Chloe said. “Order salads for all of us and get a variety of cold cuts, we can choose what we want.”

When the lunch came up Beth was amazed at the variety of salads and meats that was before her, she enjoyed her lunch very much and there was a lot left over.

Jenny asked her if she wanted to take the remainder home, otherwise it would all go back to the kitchen, Beth was to embarrassed to say yes.

Jenny said. “I will get the kitchen to pack it all into a container for you and you can then take it all home with you.”

Beth said. “Thank you dear, you are very kind.”

The afternoon went quickly and Beth gathered up her gifts, Sam went with her mum to the lift and down to the lobby, she walked her mum over to reception to get her container with the food in it.

Sam picked it up and felt the coolness of it, they both walked out to the waiting car and Sam said. “Mum, the car will pick you up tomorrow after lunch at one, I will see you then, love you.”

Beth always went to church on Sunday morning with Aunty May.

When Sam walked back into the suite she handed Jenny the key card and Jenny said. “Miss Chloe is in the bedroom.”

Sam walked into the bedroom and Chloe was under the blankets and said. “Sammy, take off your cloths and come into bed, we need to sleep as it will be a long night tonight.”

Sam took off her cloths and slipped into the bed and Chloe said. “Can I cuddle you Sammy?”

Sam reached out and Chloe cuddled up to her, put her head on Sam’s shoulder and Chloe said. “Sammy, you are very special to me, please don’t leave me?”

“I won’t ever leave you.”

Sam kissed Chloe and Chloe cuddled up against Sam’s body, she could feel the warmth of Chloe’s skin against hers, she enjoyed their closeness and they both went to sleep.

When Sam woke up Chloe’s arm was across her chest, there was a soft knock on the door and Jenny came in and said. “Miss Sam, it’s already nine thirty.”

Sam woke Chloe and she looked at Sam and smiled, Sam said. “Time to get up sleepy head.”

Chloe said. “I will go and have a shower first.”

Chloe went into the bathroom, after some time came out and had a towel wrapped around her, she dropped the towel and started putting on her panties, Sam walked up to her, picked up her underwear and the towel and went into the bathroom to have a shower.

When Sam came out Chloe was dressed in the pink lurex singlet by Zoir and a soft yellow silk pants, she looked stunning and she said. “Sammy, you will wear your Zoir top and pants?”

“Yes, if you want me to?”

“Yes Sammy, we will look like twins.”

Sam put on her silver lurex top and cream silk pants, the silk felt wonderful against her skin and Chloe said. “You look very beautiful Sammy, I might not be able to control myself at this party.”

“I am sure you will, you look very beautiful in those colours, I love the soft yellow pants, they are stunning, do you want me to brush your hair.”

“Yes Sammy, I would love that.”

Sam walked over and stood behind Chloe as she put on her makeup and gently brushed her hair, it felt like silk running through her fingers.

There was a knock on the door and Jenny came in dressed in a crop top in white with BZT across the front and stunning sky blue slacks, Sam said, “You look very beautiful Jenny.”

Chloe turned and looked at her and smiled. “You do look stunning Jenny, you might meet your prince charming tonight.”

Jenny smiled and said to Sam. “I can do that Miss Sam.”

Sam handed her the brush and Chloe said. “What colour lipstick do you want Sammy, here is a pale red.”

Sam took the lipstick and put it on, it felt so nice on her lips.

After getting ready it was getting close to eleven o’clock and Chloe said. “We will wait until eleven ten before we go up.”

Chloe handed Sam her purse for the evening, she put her phone in it and Jenny said. “Ma'am, it’s eleven ten.”

The girls went out of their suite over to the lifts to go up onto the roof, as they stepped out of the lift and walked forward, they pushed open the glass doors that opened onto the rooftop.

It was a beautiful, warm evening and there were many people on the rooftop, Sam noticed the high glass wall all around the top of the building, she could feel warmth of the velvet night brushing her arms.

An attendant asked for their invitations as Mr Edwards walked over to them and said. “Good evening ladies, they are my guests, come this way ladies and meet my wife and daughter.”

They all walked over to two woman and Mr Edwards said. “Darling, this is Miss Lee, Miss Kim and Miss Hall, they are all from South Korea, this is wife Elizabeth and my daughter Helen”

Elizabeth said.“You girls look so beautiful in your designer cloths, it is lovely to meet you, what brings you to Sydney?”

Jenny spoke. “Thank you Mrs Edwards, we have only come for a few days so Miss Hall could see her mother, it’s lovely to meet you all, please excuse us.”

And three girls walked away and Elizabeth said. “They are not very friendly.”

Mr Edwards said. “It’s not that dear, they are very secretive and come to our hotel because we do not ask questions.”

Helen said. “Daddy take me over to them, I want to speak to one of them.”

Mr Edwards and his daughter walked up to the girls who were standing near the glass wall looking at the city lights and Mr Edwards said. “Excuse us ladies, my daughter wants to speak to one of you.”

Helen said. “Are you Sam Hall the artist.”

“Yes I am.”

“It’s wonderful to meet you, I bought a painting from you a few years ago when I was in high school, you were part of a group show in the rocks, I am in uni now and I still have it and love it, that’s all I wanted say.”

“Thank you, I glad you like my work, not many people in Sydney did, it was nice to meet you Helen.” And Sam shook her hand.

Mr Edwards and Helen walked back to Elizabeth and she said. “John, are those two girls holding hands?”

“Dear, that is none of our business, don’t look at them, give them their privacy, I am amazed they are here.”

“Why do you say that?”

“They normally do not except our invitations.”

Chloe said to Sam. “You are the one who gets recognised, I am jealous that you are such a big star Sammy.”

Sam smiled and kissed Chloe on the cheek and said. “There is only one big star here and it is not me, that was nice.”

“I am so happy for you Sammy.”

As Sam and Chloe were slowly walking arm in arm across the rooftop, they heard someone call out, “Sam, Sam.”

Sam turned around and saw Brian walking up to her and he said. “Sam, I thought you were overseas?”

“I am only here for a few days to see my mum, Brian this Chloe, he is my ex’s father.”

Chloe said. “Oh, really.”

Looking straight into Brian’s eyes Chloe said, “Sammy is taken!”

Chloe smiled and took hold of Sam’s arm, Brian noticed and he said. “Come and join us and bring your friends, Paul is here, he misses you very much, please come and talk to him.”

“No thank you Brian, I do not wish to see Paul, we are fine and enjoying each others company.”

Chloe kissed Sam on the cheek and Brian said. “I will leave you two alone.”

“Thank you Brian.”

Brian walked back over to his group and Paul said. “Is she coming over dad?”

“No son, I am sorry, I think she is involved with that woman.”

“I miss her so much, I didn’t think she liked women, who is that women?”

“I have no idea son, but they are very close and seemed attached?”

One of the young girls in their group said, “You don’t know who that girl is do you?”

Paul said. “No, do you know who she is?”

“Yes, she is Chloe Lee, from Ever Love, the biggest girl K-POP group in the world, she is a superstar and very rich, I am so jealous of that other girl, I wish that was me holding her hand and she was kissing me.” And the other girl with her giggled.

Paul said to his father. “How would Sam meet her?”

Brian said. “I have no idea, it’s to late Paul, she has moved on and has a new life, I am sorry this has happened.”

“Are you sure they are together, maybe I should go over to her?”

“No son, they are very close, that woman kissed Sam, I would not get involved.”

Paul looked across at Sam. he saw how beautiful she looked and he wished they had never divorced.

As Sam and Chloe walked away from Brian over to Jenny standing against the glass, Chloe said. “This is an interesting night, I wonder who we could meet next, Jenny when do the fireworks start?”

“I believe at one minute past twelve Ma'am.”

A waiter walked over to the girls and asked if they wanted some champagne, the girls each took a glass, Chloe looked at Sam and said. “I am so glad we are together here in Sydney to see the New Year in, it’s such a beautiful, warm, romantic evening, I hope I can control myself around you Sammy, you look so beautiful.”

She took hold of Sam’s hand and looked into her eyes, smiled and gently kissed her lips.

“Jenny, what time is it?”

“Um, eleven forty-five Miss.”

“Your prince charming hasn’t arrived yet?”

“Miss, my prince charming is in Seoul, you know that, we just don’t get much time together.”

“I know Jenny, we will have to fix that in the New Year.”

The girls could see the lights on Sydney harbour bridge, the Opera House and all the people around the banks of the harbour, it looked like a wonderful party going on as thousands of people had gathered on the foreshore to see the fireworks.

The countdown started and was getting close to the start of the fireworks, five, four. three, two, one and loud cheer went up, “Happy New Year.”

Chloe turned to Sam and said. “Happy New Year my Sammy.”

Kissed her on the lips and held the kiss, Sam felt the softness and warmth of Chloe’s lips, a thrill went through her, Chloe slowly stopped and turned to Jenny and said, “Happy New Year Jenny,” and kissed her on her cheek.

The fireworks started, Chloe grabbed Sam’s arm and was overjoyed watching all the fireworks, she was like a little child.

The sky was ablaze with lights and starbursts, all the noise and colour of fireworks exploding up and down the harbour, everywhere they looked they could be see fireworks going off.

Chloe had a big smile on her face and Jenny was recording it all on her phone, it was an amazing spectacle to be part of.

The fireworks went on for a long time and then silence, Chloe turned to Sam and said. “That was wonderful Sammy, I enjoyed that so much.”

And kissed Sam again.

The air was filled with the smell of smoke and gunpowder, they could hardly see the harbour bridge as it was covered in a veil of smoke.

Sam said. “It was exciting and it was wonderful to see it from up here.”

“Sammy being with you is wonderful and I got to share this time with you, it’s a new year and I wonder what is before us, other than hard work?”

Sam smiled and said. “It will be an amazing year.”

“Sammy, you won’t leave me?”

Sam shook her head and said. “I will stay with you forever.”

Sam turned to see two men walking over towards them, they looked drunk, where was Mr Edwards, she thought?

One of the men said. “We have come over for our New Year’s kiss from you beautiful girls.”

Sam spun around and said. “Chloe get behind me and don’t move from there.”

She turned around and said. “Why don’t you two go back to the party before one of you gets hurt.”

“Who is going to hurt us, you?”

“Me, now just leave.”

“I will see if you can hurt me, I will kiss you first darlin.”

He lunged at Sam, she punched him hard straight in the chest, he reeled back and fell to his knees, clutching his chest, his face contorted as he groaned in pain.

Mr Edwards rushed over and said, “What happened?”

Sam said. “These drunken fools came here to try and kiss us, when he lunged at me I punched him in the chest, next time I will break his leg.”

Mr Edwards said. “I think you gentleman have had enough, please leave.”

The one standing helped the other one up off the ground, he was crying, holding his chest, he was very distraught and had to be helped over to the lift.

Mr Edwards said. “I do apologise for that, are you all ok?”

Jenny said. “Yes, only because Miss Sam was here, she saved us, where were you?”

“I am so sorry this happened, would you like another glass of wine?”

Jenny scowled at him and said. “No, we are fine, thank you.”

Sam turned around to Chloe and she was shaking, Sam hugged her tight and said. “You were always safe my love, I would not let anyone hurt you.”

“Sammy, you saved me again.”

Chloe kissed her, the kiss lingered, Sam slowly let her go as Chloe stopped kissing her, Sam took her hand and Chloe slowly calmed down and stopped shaking.

A few minutes later they were about to leave, two young girls came over and said. “We don’t want to be a nuisance, but are you Chloe from Ever Love?”

Jenny was about to speak and Chloe said. “Yes, I am girls.”

“We are big fans of yours and have been to all your concerts in Sydney, they were amazing.”

Jenny said. “Girls we have to go, Miss Chloe needs to sleep as she leaves for Korea tomorrow.”

Chloe said. “It was nice to meet you girls, bye.”

Chloe and Sam walked out hand in hand, the two girls had their phones out videoing the two of them leaving.

Jenny opened the door of the suite and they all went in, Sam and Chloe sat down on the lounge, Sam turned to Chloe and said. “Sweetheart, are you ok?”

“Yes Sammy, because I am with you, you make me want to be brave like you, I am amazed that you stood up to those two men, they could have hurt you.”

“They were both drunk and they did not expect me to fight, I could have beaten both of them, the reality is once one goes down it’s amazing how the other one loses their courage.”

“Sammy, I was scared, what would I do if something happened to you?”

“Nothing will happen to me.”

Chloe put her head on Sam’s shoulder, Jenny walked out in her pyjamas and said. “It’s late ladies, it’s time for bed, Miss Sam did you ring your nieces?”

“Yes, they will be here at two.”

“That’s good, goodnight.” Jenny turned and went into her bedroom.

Sam said. “Come on sleepy head, time to sleep.”

They both changed into their nightwear and climbed under the covers, Chloe turned and said. “Sammy, thank for a beautiful evening, I love being with you.”

She leaned over and kissed Sam, a long lingering kiss, cuddled up to her and said. “Goodnight my Sammy.”

Sam said. “Good night sweetheart.”

She lay there thinking about all the kisses as she felt the warmth of Chloe’s body against hers, she smiled and slowly drifted off to sleep.
