Spending more face time doing what is important.

It is in my opinion the three most important things a professional Artist can do are these, creating your Art, selling your Art and office work.
We do these by organizing our day so that these tasks are prioritized.
To accomplish this we need to be making our daily work list of things that need to be done from our important work first down to the urgent things last and ticking them off as we do them.
Set aside the major share of your time each day for creating Art.
Set aside time each day for selling, whether on social media or going to galleries or Art fairs and competitions.
We must prioritize selling as we need money so we can continue our Art creating.
Finally we must set aside time each day for office work, no more than one hour a day.
+Record keeping of purchases.
During this time you record all your Art supply purchases so you have a record of what you bought and you know where your money is going. Do not leave it to your memory as you will forget.
+Sales records.
You must also keep records of all your sales, who bought the Art and their email address, the name of the Art piece and how much you sold it for.
+Finally consignment of Art to Galleries, Art shows and competitions and other events.
Before you deliver your Art to the gallery you must make out a delivery receipt/invoice of the work you are delivering.
If the gallery wants to give you a consignment note as well, great, but you must always give them your delivery receipt/invoice.
Do not leave work and wait for the gallery to send you a copy of the consignment note, you give them your delivery receipt/invoice which will have on it itemized all the Art you are delivering, title, medium, size and gallery price. This way they must sign and date your delivery receipt/invoice and if something goes wrong you have your record of your delivered Art.
If they lose your Art then they have bought it as your delivery receipt is also your invoice.
If there is any dispute about what you delivered as it is not on the gallery consignment note, you have your delivery receipt which will clearly show what you delivered and that they signed for it and dated it.
It is so important that you never deliver anything without a delivery receipt/invoice and you get it signed and dated, do not trust others to not make mistakes.
I know of many Artists who go back to their gallery to collect their work and not even bring the gallery consignment note with them and then find that all the work is not present and according to their gallery nothing was sold, you never delivered it.
If you have a delivery receipt/invoice signed and dated by the gallery they cannot do that to you.
If you implement this business practice into your Art business it will serve you well and show that you are serious about your Art business and you are not to be taken lightly.
When dealing with business people, be business like.
