Perfection is illusive and hard to do.
It’s
free to guess.
It’s
free to experiment.
It’s
free to make mistakes.
Because
this is how we get to the next level, by trying new things and making
mistakes and then trying something
different.
School
taught me
that making mistakes was wrong, I
had to always get it right, but playing taught me
that making mistakes was part of the learning process.
When
you learn to ride a bike, you fall off.
When
you learn to roller skate you fall down.
When
you were learning to walk you fell
down many times it was part of the learning process.
So
making mistakes is part of learning to do it correctly.
To
get to the next level you will fail a few times, maybe a lot of times
but you will learn something new each time you do.
If
you want to paint your great masterpiece or write the great
Australian novel you will not start because of
fear, knowing that it is such a big and
noble project and everyone
will understand because there is so much to prepare and there will be
lots of excuses why you cannot start.
But
if you decide to just paint and experiment or write a few lines of
a story you will do it because it is not
so big that you don’t know where to start and
the fear will be small.
If
you are prepared to guess a lot and experiment and make mistakes you
will learn a lot and go up to the next level.
Perfection
is illusive and hard to do.
But
experimenting is easy and fun to do.
Stop
trying for Artistic
perfection and just have fun.
