Standing out is better than being invisible.




One of the most interesting things I see in the Art world that I am a part of is the rush of young Artists to follow fads and trends.
This is certainly not the best way to be successful and get attention.
Being lost in the crowd of the same does not make you stand out but makes you invisible.
You would be far better to do different and original work and race ahead where no one else sees a path and deliberately holding back from going where the crowd wants to go.
Being invisible is fine if that is what you want but it’s very hard for an invisible Artists to get the public's attention.
Best to stand out and get attention.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
