Learning to be patient.
One
word that I keep repeating to myself daily is patience.
I
do this because I am very motivated and I want everything to happen
quickly, but it doesn’t work like that, everything takes time and
patience is needed.
I
remember in my past that I wanted certain things to happen quickly
and I tried to force them. I knew I should stay put and be very
patient but I was unable to control my impatience and I made
decisions that put forces into play that I was not ready for and of
course I did not get what I wanted quicker but managed to push it
back years, many years.
All
because I was so impatient and wanted it now.
I
can now see that I was not ready for that change because I had so
much more to understand and learn to be able to get to that place and
handle what I was working towards.
I
hear lots of ambitious young people talk about the need to hustle and
get it done quickly and I wonder if this kind of action will lead
them to becoming disillusioned with business and life.
I
have learnt that most times things do not happen fast, they gradually
happen and you look back and say, “Wow look how far I have come.”
Instead
of talking about all your hustle, don’t you think it would be
better to approach it as working hard to achieve a goal within a
reasonably time, not trying to force it to happen.
Learning
to be patient because you cannot force your Art career to happen, it
will take time.
While
patiently working hard towards your goals, knowing that you need to
continue to grow and learn to manipulate the thief in your head.
Truth
is we never rise above our fear, so learn to recognise it when your
fear arrives and then use it to help you to continue going forward.
There
is no substitute for hard work and the necessity of patience, it will
take time and you learning to recognise the thief when it arrives and
act accordingly.
I
now know that patience is a key to success because we need to grow
and prepare ourselves for success, working hard and being content to
be patient.
You
can be the Artist you want to be and more, if work hard and patiently
at your Art career.
