Shine.


I often think about all the difficulties that Artists face, the self doubt ever nagging at their heals, the relentless thief in its quest for safe and average, all the noise out there everyone trying to get heard and have an opinion on what the Artist should do or shouldn't do.
We all recognise that problems are part of the Artists Life.
Yet the Artist Life, is a wonderful opportunity that Artists have been given to overcome setback and opinions and shine.
Do not let the negative setbacks that you face stop you from seeing the wonderful gift that you have been given.
Artists are incredibly fortunate people because they “Create”, yes you make something out of nothing.
Think about that?
You have been given the greatest gift of all, the opportunity to be a creative Artist, to take a white canvas and create some beautiful on it, that did not exist until you painted it.
To take a piece of clay and make something beautiful out of it.
A wonderful friend of mine takes pieces of unwanted material and turns them into beautiful quilts, how fantastic is that?
Artists, please stop looking at the setbacks and see the great gift that you have been given, the ability to create something out of nothing.
Be the best Artist that you can be and shine.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
