Every painting has value, but every painting is not valuable.
Value is not just in the painting, because your skill, your personality adds to value of the painting.
If you take a Picasso painting and remove the signature it becomes worthless, but because of the signature it is of great value.
Yes there is value in the painting but because Picasso did it, it becomes very valuable.
So for us in the beginning of our Art careers it is our paintings that are valued at so much but as your fame and influence grows, that same painting now gets more valuable because you did it and who you are becoming as an Artist.
So one key to seeing your prices rise is or you the Artist to become more valuable to the market place and you will do that by getting the attention of strangers.
Value for the Artist is created through being friendly and an approachable person, marketing your paintings through doing videos, blogs, storytelling your paintings and building a very strong after sales service in your Art business.
This is what will make you valuable to the market place.
As you become more valuable to the Art market so your paintings rise in price and become more valuable.
Work on you, work on your Art, work on your Art business and become valuable to the Art market.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most.
