Your Art road.




I believe that Artists are trail blazers not map followers.
As we set our goals and begin to work towards them so we make the Art road we will walk on.
A new Art road, our road, not anyone else's road, our own individual original road made for me, by me, for me to walk on, yes others my follow and walk on my road but it is my road, no map used.
As we trail blaze there will be dry creek beds to cross, wide open plains to walk across, very high mountains to stand upon in wonderment and very deep, dark valleys where we will feel very alone, but it is all part of trail blazing, walking on our Art road.
As you work hard at your Art and your Art Business you are building your road.
Never stop, never give up, never say I quit.
If you give up in the deep dark valleys you will miss the promise of the mountain top, and the beauty of the wild flowers on the plains and the victory of arriving at your destination, your accomplished goals.
Working hard at Art produces the miracle so do not give up on this Art road you are making, it is your road.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
