Some do and some don’t.




I talk to a lot of Artists from around the world and the majority want to be successful selling Artists, which is really good.
Many are looking for the secret to success, the 10 steps to Artistic success, but there is no secret sauce or way to do it, the only way is the way everyone has to, the regular way.
Yes there are lots of things you can do which will help greatly along the way and I talk about a lot of those keys, but you still have to do them and incorporate them into your Art practice.
Everyone has the potential to be a financially successful Artist, but not all want to do the work and pay the cost to do it, because often the cost is higher than we think.
Most want to be successful but it is hard work, not just creating Art but also working on your personal life and your Art business.
Everyone wants to be a successful Artist and I believe they do, but something holds them back from achieving that.
They know what to do and how to do it but they don’t do it, isn’t that interesting?
It’s like we all want to be healthy and we know to be healthy we should exercise and go for a walk which is quite easy to do, but some do and some don’t.
It’s a mystery.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
