Take a detour.



What happens if you set your Artistic goals up and begin to work on a plan to see your goals become reality and some thing goes wrong, the Art market slows or problems arise that stop you from working your plan, what do you do?
There are always going to problems in life yet we must always focus on our goals and not change them.
Where I am living right now there a lots of road works going on and often when I am driving to a destination I find that the road I wanted to take is blocked and I cannot get through.
Now when this happens I can give up and go back home and abandon my goal of getting to my destination or I can find another way to go there, I take a detour.
I did not change my goal I changed my plan of how I would get there.
When roadblocks come and they will, change your plans and go another way but do not change your goals.
Take detours in your stride, it simply means you take another route so you can get to your destination.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
