Your best work.


Everyone is looking to be the greatest Artist in their country, but what we should be looking for is to be the greatest Artist that we can possibly be.
We are not in a competition, we can not be someone else, we can only be ourselves.
We can envy other Artists which is not good and copy their work to prove to ourselves we are as good, but it is not our original work so it can never be as good.
Your own original work that you produce defines you as an Artist.
Unfortunately so many Artist look at their own work and criticise it so badly that they never show it and go and copy another painting because others have said it was good so they do that, yet that is not you at all, just a pale shadow of someone else.
Not matter what you think of your painting, show it, it is your original work, don't let that self defeating inner voice rob you of your own creativity.
Your original work is always your best work because it is you, it talks of you and who you are.
If you do not think your work is good enough, ignore this self defeating inner talk and show the work, you may be pleasantly surprised.
Always your original work is your best work.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
