You paint for your people.

Every time you show your work publicly look for the people that smile at your work but are to shy to approach you, smile back and go and speak to them and appreciate them.
Talk to the one who thinks your work is wonderful, listen to them, you have earned the praise.
Make sure all the ones who love, like and smile at your work walk away with something from you.
If not a painting, your Artists pack, exchange emails and warmly thank them, so they remember your smile and warm personality as well as your paintings.
We do not paint for everyone.
We paint for those who recognize that your work is for them, your people who appreciate your paintings.
When you are back in the studio block out the negative words of the thief and remember the smiles, the kind words and appreciation from strangers, they are your strangers and hopefully they will become your collectors and your friends.
You do not paint for everyone and everyone will not like your paintings.
You paint for your people, the ones that appreciate you the Artist and your Art work, you painted it for them.
