It is a gift for you.

So many Artists out there struggle with self doubt, lack of confidence and low self esteem.
Many feel awkward when someone admires their Art and says how nice it is.
We need to learn to say “ Thank you” but for many that is so hard to do and they put themselves down, trying to be humble, but it’s not humility it is self criticism and it often sabotages the sale.
When complemented some Artists say, “ I am only a beginner.”
My work is improving.”
My work is getting better, I have a lot to learn.”
Thinking by saying this the customer will not think you have a big ego, but what you are really saying or what the customer is hearing, “ I don’t believe in my Art.”
So many do this because of their yesterdays where they were taught that it is wrong to accept praise.
The voice in your head is saying,
I am not good enough.”
They are just saying that to be nice.”
I know my work is not as good as all the other Artists.”
This is so wrong to do this to yourself and keep undermining your life and career.
When someone say’s your painting is beautiful say,
Thank you, yes I painted it and I agree it is beautiful.”
Take credit, “Yes I did this.”
Drink in the praise it is a gift from them to you, accept it.
Be in the moment and enjoy it, it is your moment.
Accept praise, you are an Artist, you earned it.
Next time we tell you your Art is beautiful say,
Thank you, yes it is beautiful.”
We can’t create beautiful Artworks like you, so our praise is our gift to you.
