Use it to motivate you.

Fear is something that every person has to deal with it is normal, fear was built into us to save us long ago from the ever present danger of being eaten by wild animals, but we no longer have these problems yet we still face fear today and it is one major road block that stops people from being successful.
The difference between a successful Artist and the Artist lost in the Art crowd is that the successful one has learned to use fear to motivate her and not allow it to hold her back.
Fear is very good and healthy when you are standing on the top of a ten story building but when fear is holding us back and we cannot give a talk about our Art or make those videos that we know we should make or not be able to go up and talk to strangers at Art exhibitions then fear is in control not us.
If we allow the fear to motivate us, “ Yes you are here so this must be the right thing to do,” and we get up and give that talk and make those videos and go up and talk to strangers then we are in control and take our Art career forward and grow as a person.
If we don’t and we allow the fear to stop us from giving that talk or making that video or not talking with strangers we have now created a road block before us and until we overcome those fears, fear will ever have us trapped.
The question I always ask Artists is simply this, if you give your Artist talk or make those videos or talk with strangers what is the worst that would happen?
Nothing at all.
The first time you give your Artist talk might be a little uneasy for you or you make that first video or go up and chat with strangers but I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised at how encouraging and complementary people are, they want to hear what you have to say and to see your videos and they love chatting with you the Artist.
It is just the fear inside your head that is stopping you.
You need to know we want to hear about your Art and we want to see your videos and we loving chatting with you at openings, you are the Artist and we think you are extraordinary.
