It takes self discipline.


Consider the upside of being able to sell your work, you are in control of your financial future.

This is a subject many Artists do not think about but should.

If you control your financial future then you have the freedom to pursue your goals in Art and life.

There is nothing worse than be under the constant stress of financial pressure, having to find the money to pay bills and live and it is a monthly cycle that many cannot get out of.

Yet with a little initial pain and sacrifice we can all get ourselves to some kind of financial freedom.

I am not talking about getting rich but I am talking about being in that place where we are not constantly burdened with pressure to pay bills with money we do not have.

If we learn to control our money we take control of our future and our life.

Learn to sell, it’s a skill that you can master and as a professional Artist you have to sell.

Learn to save money, it’s a discipline that you can do.

Be frugal and sacrifice, it’s a choice you make.

Delayed gratification, reward when goals are achieved, no reward if not achieved.

These four skills are about personal responsibility, they will change and revolutionise your life.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
