Is there an easy way?

 

Many Artists want to believe that there is an easy way to build a good Art practice, there is no easy way, it takes time.

It is the same with weight loss and fitness, get rich quick ideas, there are no easy ways, it takes time and hard work.

Many people ignore this truth because the story they are telling themselves is better.

So many believe that they are different and they can easily do it. This just leads to disappointment and frustration.

The key to success in the Art business is consistency.

Doing it today, and then doing it again tomorrow a little better.

If your desire is always to do it a little better every day, you will improve.

If you only improve 1% each day every day you will change your life dramatically in one year.

It is never the big gains that count it’s the small incremental gains.

It’s like saving money, it grows so slow, but it grows and one day there is a lot of money there, it’s slow but the gain is great, it takes time, consistency and hard work.

The habit of continual improvement.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
