It seems so simple.


As Artists we are responsible for our futures and all that we do with the gifts and talents that we have been given.

Now you can argue with me and say that circumstances are against you, the Art Market does not recognize you and if I knew the problems that you had, I would understand why you are not doing so well.

Firstly, we all face the same circumstances, it rains on the rich and the poor, its called life and we are all living it.

The unforeseen can happen to us all.

We all have to live with the vagaries of the Art Market, we cannot change it, so we better find a way to work with it.

There must be a way because there are many successful Artists out there, how did they do it, what makes them successful?

The answer will seem so simple, they promoted themselves and got face and name recognition and they went to work on themselves to be better and learned as much about the Art Market as they could, and then they put into action all that they learned.

Once we take responsibility, we act.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most.
