Paint your vision.

 

There are many view points out there, but this is Art and it changes, you as a person change over the years.

I know there are many Artists who don’t agree with me and that’s fine, I do not believe in locking yourself as an Artist into a signature style, that would be like being in a straight jacket, your signature style is you, you are your brand not a style that you paint in.

I always put my photo on everything I do, as I am the brand not one painting, I want people to recognize me and know my name.

As I have said I have walked against what others thought, when I painted I refused to paint one style of painting, I just painted how I felt led by the Muse and never considered a distinct style or what a gallery wanted, it was my career and sink or swim I was doing it my way.

I might not have much control over the Art market, but I could have all the control over how and what I wanted to paint.

What is amazing now is that all the work I did is now accepted as mine, as eclectic as it is.

It is all about you Artist, Knowing you and knowing your name seeing your wonderful gift in every painting you do, no matter how different they are.

You are the Artist, you are your brand, not one particular painting.

The magic words are, paint your vision always.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
