My reasons for not commenting.
I receive lots of emails asking me to look at paintings and give my opinion. I do understand why artists do it but I make it a policy not to comment on whether a painting is good or bad, according to me.
My reasons for not commenting.
Artists you do not need my approval or anyone else, you are an artist.
If you want to be very successful artist or really successful in any area of your life, then these are the things I believe you need to do.
Ask not for approval.
Ask not for permission.
Ask not for a map.
You must approve of your work not others.
You must give yourself permission, you do not need it from others.
You must make your own map for you to follow.
Get council and advice from others, and then decide what is best for you.
Seek out the wisdom of older artist who can mentor you, but you do not need their permission to be you.
You make your own map, because this is your life and you are special and creative and there has never been anyone like you before.
Give yourself permission to be creative and ignore the critics and haters.
Give your self approval, this is your artistic career, own it.
Write the road map for you as you go forward, because you are writing your map as you build your artistic career.
Artists to do your best and new work, be free of the shackles of needing others approval.
Artists you do not need permission to go and create the “new”.
This is your artistic life, you be a trailblazer not a map follower.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
