Guard your heart.



I love this thought, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
The continued education of our life, the person we are and are becoming is determined by your heart, which is the inner man, our thoughts, our emotions.
Above all the things that have to be guarded, keep guard of your heart, your thoughts, your emotions, your character, guard them aggressively.
Guard them from loud and proud people.
Guard them from negative and critical people.
Guard them from flattery and self serving people.
Keep watch over them because they determine the person that you are and are becoming.
Expel from your own life self doubt and self criticism.
Guard against fear, especially the fear of failure.
Guard against the fear of what other people may say.
Guard against the fear of fear itself, most of what we fear never happens.
Keep positive thoughts defending your heart.
Keep a positive attitude defending your character.
Rise above criticism and forgive those who criticise and move on.
“As a person thinks in their heart, so are they.”
Be quick to say sorry.
Be quick to forgive.
Be quick to encourage.
Be quick to help and give.
Think about the person you are and are becoming and work towards these positive outcomes, this is the real you, not someone downtrodden by the hard words and actions of others.
Speak positive self talk always, dive out negative self talk, that will rob you of your blessing.
Guard your character with more carefulness than you do your most precious possessions, for you are a positive creative Artist, live that out.
You are more powerful than you believe you are, act accordingly.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
