What can you learn from failing?

Lots, you learn what not to do next time, you learn that there is a better way to do it and you learn that you must change yourself if you want your world to change.

Failure in the Art World does not come because you have no talent or you cannot paint.

Most people fail in the Art world because they just give up.

Once you give up it’s finished, there is no going forward so the key to surviving is to never give up, to never quit.

Many people become Artists because of the encouragement of family and friends and often they say how talented you are and then you launch into selling your Art believing what they have said and expecting to sell and most times you do not sell.

Artists become disheartened and often give up after some time.

Understand this Art market you are in it is no different to any other market, supply and demand.

If strangers perceive value in your Art and they want it then they will buy it, the issue here is that often the unknown Artist perceives more value in their Art than the stranger does and so no sale.

There are lots of little talent painters who are successful Artists, because they work very hard and learned to understand the market they are in and have built a group of collectors around them.

They got the attention of strangers and these strangers bought their Art work because they saw the value in it and they became friends.

I know that these Artists are successful because they understand the market they are in and work hard at it.

The value of your work in the eye of the stranger is less when you are unknown than when you are known.

Now what these Artists have learned all Artists can learn and if the talented Artists who does great paintings and works hard also learns about the market place they are in, then they to will be successful as well.

Artists need to learn about the market place, which is learning about selling and marketing and bringing value to the market.

You should continue to work on your Artistic skills as well, honing your craft.

It does seem a lot of work, because to be a successful Artist requires a lot of work but it is profitable if you do it.
