Story tell your Art and the process.



When you are talking to a stranger or collector about your Art always emphasise that when buying an original painting it is so much more significant than a photographic print of a painting which there could be hundreds of copies produced.
Explain how an original painting gives the collector a part of the Artists life, they are buying into a moment in time in the Artists life, when at this specific point of the Artist’s career this painting was conceived and completed.
It is very important for collectors to grasp this idea of the Artist being able to complete a certain painting at a definite moment in time and space.
Paintings are like a time capsule showing a specific point of time in the maturity of the Artist then as that moment passes the Artist moves onto the next painting, leaving this legacy of that moment in time forever enshrined in paint on canvas.
Paintings are like the life markers of the Artists life, they point to a certain time and place and only at that particular time in the Artists life did that particular painting get completed, as the Artist has since moved on in their creative journey.
Artists always encourage strangers and collectors to buy original Art because they are then buying into your Artistic life and story.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most.
