A different Art Business.

Galleries will not just disappear or totally disappear, what I am saying is those that do not change, will disappear and those that embrace the new technology will go on and prosper, but it will be a different Art business.
For those who run Gallery it would not be wise to consider what has been a perfect industry for so long cannot just disappear quickly, look at the music industry, we can easily go the same way.
The biggest problem with any industry and especially the Art industry is the collective thinking that this is how it has always been done, so it will go on forever, it will not.
Galleries will change.
Art schools will change.
Artists will change.
The Art business will change.
We must change and embrace the new technology and go forward.
This change will continue to come as the 20 to 30 year olds enter into the art market and use technology to do their buying and recording of their Art collections, we must all employ as much social media as we can as our major strategy to reach people and sell Art.
I find this so interesting, next time you are at an opening or an auction preview watch how both young and older people are using their phones to take pictures, a revolution is happening.
It's a new day.
How do we make these change that needs to take place?
I have no idea, we are trailblazing now and going forward without a map, it will not be easy but it is exciting.
Experiment and go forward, being willing to be first to do something new.
One thing I do know is that it is all about connecting with people now, building groups and building relationships, hard sell is finished.
Today an Artist can talk by video chat to their collector from another country at any time, show their new paintings, do the transaction with Paypal on their web site and ship to anywhere in the world without ever having to step into a Gallery or Auction house.
The revolution is here.
