Focus.


The whole focus of the professional Artist outside of creating great Art is to sell your Art.

You must be relentless, you must have a great product and it must offer value to the customer.

You must be in group shows and competitions and get known in your local area.

You must make videos of you with your Art talking about it.

You must story tell your Art and story tell your life, people need to know you.

You must have great after sales service.

You must have confidence and great self belief.

You must do what is right for you, we all want to do the easy stuff but success comes through doing the hard things.

Of course it goes without saying I do not want you to give your Art away and also I don’t think you should put high prices on your work when you are just beginning and in the end the price you put on it will be your decision and make it great value for the customer.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
