The book that you don't read, maybe the book that you need.


We all want more or so we are told and its usually more stuff we really do not need.

If I said to you as an Artist that you need more, I wonder how you would interpret that in regards to your Art business?

Of course most would say more money, more sales, more opportunity and more collectors and the list could go on.

But what if I said what we really need is more knowledge.

If we got more knowledge then those other things would most probably come to pass.

More knowledge about money, how to get it, how to spend it wisely and how to keep it.

More knowledge about sales, how get them, how to close them and how to get more.

More knowledge about opportunities, how to recognize them, how to exploit them and how to prepare for more.

More knowledge about collectors, how to meet strangers, how to engage with strangers, how to lead a stranger to the sale close.

All this knowledge and the wisdom of the ages is available to all of us in books, but if we don't read them, then we can never learn the knowledge within them.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
