What are you finding?
I read this article on an artist group site that took a big shot at curators and artists statements and about story telling their paintings etc.
Now it is really easy for Artists or anyone to be critical of something that they do not wish to do.
If you don't want to write an artist statement or story tell your paintings then don't do it.
But please do not criticize those who do.
I believe that Artists should always do what is best for them, they are creative people who often do not fit into a pigeon hole and need space to do what they want to do.
But do not criticize others who do not wish to agree with you, everyone has the right to blaze their own trail even if it is different from yours.

Also Galleries and curators are part of the system we live in and it will not change, there are good curators and bad curators, good galleries and bad galleries, just like there are good and bad Artists and pointing out faults does not make the system better.
As Artists we all have to work with the same Art market.
There are some Artists that I know who make a reasonable living of selling paintings on the street, some do very well in galleries, some excel in Art Fairs and others in weekend markets, all these Artists in their varied ways are putting their Art out there and selling it and doing well.
Complaining fixes nothing and it alienates groups of people.
What is the answer?
Do your best to make the part of the Art world you are in better.
Don't just find fault, like there is some kind of reward.
Find a way to do it better or say nothing.
So many artists are complainers and believe that they have a right to prosper because they are Artists.
Well you don't have any more right to prosper than any one else on this planet.
If you don't want to work hard at your art, don't, but don't complain.
If you don't want to story tell you paintings and who you are as an Artist, don't, but don't criticize others who do.
If you don't want to deal with curators and people like me, don't, it is your choice.
No one will force you to, but do not complain and mummer and criticize when those who do these things prosper.
Please Artist stop being romantic about being an Artist, this is a business and there is a market and the market rules, you may disagree but the market does rule.
If you want to fight the market and rage against it, ok but remember the Artist Chuck Connelly, he decide to fight the market, have you heard of him?
Probably not.
Google his name, watch his videos on YouTube, “The art to failure.”

Artist always strive to find a way to do it better, not find fault, do not criticize.
Always remember reaping and sowing, it is happening in your life even if you don't believe in it, what goes, comes.
Always try to find the better way, not find fault.
