Being unknown is not a successful strategy.
I
have said repeatedly that talent is no guarantee of success in the
Art business.
Other
things come into play that are more important like getting known,
doing original Art work, getting known, learn about sales and
marketing and getting known.
Most
people insist on fretting about and working on stuff that makes no
difference at all.
Getting
known is very important compared to spending ages continually
improving your not quite perfect yet Artist statement.
Learning
about sales and marketing are very important compared to making
excuses why you can’t sell and blaming the Art market because no
one will sell your Art for you and if someone does we then complain
about paying commissions.
Working
on your own original Art work only not trying to paint to be like
everyone else or copying.
How
do I get known?
Be
visible, make videos, write about your Art, story tell your Art, join
Art shows and competitions, get involved in local art fairs and be
very friendly and talk to strangers.
What
we have to do is perfect the things that really matter, doing
original Art work, learning about sales and marketing and getting
known.
Being
unknown is safe but not a successful strategy for an Artist who wants
to sell and be famous.
