Ok videos?

I spend a lot of time encouraging Artists to make videos, because I see the value of what videos can give you.

Now it is important to remember that we get paid for value, if people perceive us to be of value to the Art world then we sell more paintings and our prices creep upwards.

So it’s value we want to bring to the market place in the form of paintings. For our paintings to sell they will have to be seen and seen by many people as possible and that is why I believe Artists should be making videos.

Now I know many will not make them because of fear, that is what stops most. It is like standing up in public and speaking to a crowd, many just cannot do that.

So the question is this? Will it hurt my Art business if I never do videos?

The answer is, you will never know unless you do them and see.

What videos do for you, is put you in front of the Art public so you can promote your paintings.

Now it is not just about showing your paintings it is also about showing you so people can recognise you and hear you talking about your Art.

You may say that everyone knows you and maybe all your Artist friends do but they do not pay your bills it is strangers who buy your paintings that do that, so strangers need to know you, see you so they can recognise you and hear your story.

Many Artists will say to me that they do not need to do videos as they do not see the value in them.

These are the same Artists who said they would never have a mobile phone, or they would never have a Facebook page, they would never do selfies and now they do them all.

Videos are a great advantage to Artists and we should use this free medium to promote our paintings and get them out there on Facebook, YouTube and every other place we can show them so as many people as possible can see our Art work.

If you are not making videos of your Art, why not?
