Why do you paint?


Yes sales are important and we all have to earn a living so we must sell our Art.
Yet understand you are bringing more than just a sale to the table, you are adding value to another persons life through your Art.
Even if they don't buy your painting but they look at it and find joy, hope and inspiration in your Art you have touched someone’s life and added something special to them and that is an extraordinary gift.
Artists are called to create and through their creations they impact on the lives of others, so never underestimate the power of your paintings on others to inspire.
You may never know everyone who is moved by your Art but you will hear from enough to know that you are making a difference and your creative contribution is important no matter how alone you may feel sometimes.
Even if through your Art you only touch one special life and bring positive change into that life, how magical is that.
Imagine Artist you are called to make a difference in this world to create and bring joy, hope and inspiration into the lives of others.
Be encouraged, go forward you cannot give up.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success. Question, “From your last exhibition or showing, what was the worst part?” Now you cannot criticise anyone or anything, this is all about you.
