Standing out

It will take great ideas and deliberate action to stand out from the crowd.
Ideas are easy to come by, everyone has them.
Excuses are easy to come by, everyone uses them.
Ideas are useless, unless you are prepared to do the hard work to make the ideas a reality.
It is in the work where the miracle happens, not in the ideas.
Some Artists have great ideas and then talk themselves out of them and use excuses for why it could not happen.
Mostly it’s fear that stops them and some procrastinate.
Not all ideas will work and if they don't, no problem, ideas are in abundance so get some more.
The problem is not that there is not enough good ideas because there are an abundance of them, the problem is someone has to do the work to make them a reality.
Wishful thinking is nice and makes you feel good, but only good ideas and hard work will bring forth the miracle of success in your Art career.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Of coarse my opinion comes from my experience with Galleries and collectors and of coarse artists and you may not agree with me and that is fine and I hope I do not upset to many people but lets take a look at the reality of the situation. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
