Today’s opportunity.



Sales is the reason that your Art business can exist.
If you cannot sell what you make and you cannot pay yourself, then your Art business will not survive.
Many Artists hope that the sales process will go away and that they will never have to sell to anyone and that they will find a Gallery or dealer who will work the magic for them but the reality is that you are your best sales person because you know your product best.
Invest some time and money into learning to sell and market yourself online and it will pay big dividends.
As the Art Galleries get fewer and fewer Artists have to be able to sell their own work.
The wonderful thing about selling online or directly to the collector is that there is no middle man and no commissions and this is a wonderful opportunity for the Artist to build a stable business.
Now is the time to promote yourself through video, blogs and showing on Artist pages in Facebook and other platforms. When you show a painting always tell a short story about the painting or what you were thinking at the time it will engage the viewer and help bring about a sale.
None of this very difficult to do but it is time consuming and when you go to do something different and challenging you will have to deal with the “thief” and it will help you to make excuses as to why you can’t do it or shouldn’t do it and if that does not work it will try shame and ridicule to stop you, so prepare for the thief and when it turns up you will know you are on the right track.
Grasp the opportunity of the internet and use it to build your Art business today.

Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth?

                                               Why don't people want to pay what my art is worth? I keep reading on an artists group pages again and again the same old question, “ I cannot sell my art for what it is really worth?” This is always a question raging in the art world, sort of the never ending question. Every artist has an opinion about this and it sometimes sounds like whining and of coarse they do not want to hear any opinions that differ from the fact, that their art is worth far more than they can sell it for. Your weakest skill, sets the height of your success. If you don't know your best skill, you had better find out your weakest skill, because its the weakest skill that holds you back. As Artists we so often coast along depending on our strongest skills to get us through, never realising that it is the weakest skills that hurt us the most. Now I have learned what not to do, because as an Artist I never did this but after years in Galleries I wish I had, it was a weak skill that determined the height of my success.
