Price points.
“Not
everyone can afford large original Art works but are they
able to buy something, regardless of how little or how much they have
to spend?”
This
is
something
that many Artists do not think about as
they
are
often
set
in their ways and
also afraid if they do smaller
paintings
for less money it will effect their larger sales, yet
they really need to consider all the potential customers that are
before them who
they are not reaching when you have limited price points.
Artists must consider those people who do not have a large amount of disposable income and who want original art work in their homes. Often Artists offer prints at the lower price so that everyone can have their Art work, but there are many who don’t want prints but do want original work.
Consider lower price points.
Do smaller paintings that can meet other price points down to $5, small calling card size up to A4 all offering a different price point yet it is still original Art.
Even here in the Gallery we offer 4inch by 4 inch acrylic paintings of girls heads for US $6.00, inexpensive but they proved very popular and sold well. Of course there is not big profit in them but there is a little and it is a sale and someone who could not afford a large original art work could afford these small paintings. My attitude is that another original painting is in the house of a stranger, Art wins.
Artists when you are marketing your work, whatever that might be the more price points you offer the greater the opportunity to sell.
In the past I have sold business card size acrylic paintings up to A4 on paper, painted bottles, painted stones and rocks and painted broken flower pots, never underestimate what people will buy.
There are many people out there who would like an original Art work but do not have the funds to do that so give them the opportunity to own one of your paintings by creating various price points in your work. I am not saying to sell your painting for less, but to paint smaller paintings to meet the budget of those who do not have a lot to spend.
Marketing yourself this way opens doors for you to get your paintings into houses you would not normally get into, even a business card size painting is an original Art work.
Be a smart Art marketer and market your original Art work across different price points, variety and choice for your customers will bring more sales.
