The Great Quest.
In the beginning of you Art career do not concentrate on price, concentrate on showing your work to strangers and getting them to buy your painting and hang it in their houses.
So many new or unknown Artists always think price and so they price their work like they are a popular seasoned Artist and then wonder why they do not sell?
Just like in any other profession, you start at the beginning, prove yourself over time, and then progressively build your reputation as an Artist.
Set realistic prices when you are unknown so that your paintings get onto the walls strangers, this the most important thing you can do other than painting.
This has to be your primary objective, getting your paintings onto the walls of strangers at a price that they can see value in, this is the great quest.
Our question should be, “ How do I get my paintings in front of strangers so they can see them, appreciate them and buy them and hang them on their walls?”
Be creative in showing your paintings, think outside Galleries, think about weekend markets, group shows, guerilla art shows, busk your art on the street, do whatever you have to do to get your paintings in front of strangers.
Strangers are the key to your success.
