Three things to think about.
Three
things that I have become convinced about over the years in this Art
business.
1.
If the collector likes you, they will most likely like your Art.
So
work hard on yourself to become a friendly, warm person that people
like.
Become
a better person and your whole world will improve.
2.
The Artist becomes more important than the Art they make.
In
the beginning of your career your Art is very important so that you
get noticed and get attention and begin to build your name.
As
you get known and your popularity grows and you become famous so you
will begin to eclipse your Art and your signature will be become more
important than the Art work.
Just
look at auctions and the prices that come for a signature.
So
it is very important that you prepare yourself for success, because
success does not reside long with the unprepared.
Work
hard on personal improvement and build a good and ethical name.
3.
Strangers make you famous.
Strangers
need to buy your paintings, not only family and friends.
Strangers
will become your collectors.
Strangers
have all the money you will earn from selling your paintings.
Strangers
will make you famous.
So
it is very important that you meet lots of strangers, turn them into
friends and buyers and into long term collectors.
Now
if all this is true it would seem that I need to work as hard on my
character and self improvement as I do on my Art?
If
you want things to get better, you will have to get better.
